Grundfos in Illinois
NORTH AMERICAN HEADQUARTERS: Grundfos will open its North American headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill., in Spring 2013. The company hopes to grow the office to 40 employees in the coming years.
STATE INVESTMENT: Soon to be home to Grundfos’ North American headquarters, Illinois is a major priority for the company, which employs 80 people in the state. The Great Lakes contain 20 percent of the world’s fresh water. Historically, industries that required a lot of fresh water were drawn to and planted roots in the region, which gave birth to the water industry. Grundfos views the Great Lakes region as an emerging and increasingly vital hub for the water industry and plans to continue increasing its investment in the area. The state of Illinois has shown commitment to water infrastructure, most recently through a $1 billion initiative to upgrade water infrastructure across the state.
GRUNDFOS CHICAGO: Grundfos Chicago, including office, warehouse and manufacturing facilities, is devoted exclusively to the production, service and distribution of pumps and other equipment for the municipal wastewater treatment market throughout North America and beyond. Formerly Yeomans Chicago Corporation, the Aurora, Ill., based company was acquired by Grundfos North America in December 2008.
WATER UTILITY CENTER: Grundfos opened a Water Utility Center at its facility in Aurora, Ill., in March 2012. The center, focused solely on the wastewater market, will be used as a platform for launching increasingly sophisticated, energy-saving pump technologies in the coming years. The North American Water Utility Center brings together a fully integrated team of professional experts in the municipal waste water industry. Their specialized skills include engineering, manufacturing, product sales and service, distribution, regulatory issues and equipment testing.
