Surface Water Solutions

Drawing surface water from a shallow well at a lake shore or river bank provides easily treatable water that has been naturally filtered. Where substantial water flows are required, surface water offers an excellent supplement to pristine water sources such as spring water and groundwater.

Grundfos can tailor pumping solutions that take account of the varied demands of surface water resources. Seasonal changes to river and lake levels mean that submersible multistage SP pumps are ideal for these applications with periodic uncontrollably high water levels.

As lakes and rivers may have been exposed to pollution and pesticides, a careful balance needs to be maintained between slow filtering through a lakeside or river bank well and the optimum chemical disinfection.
