Best Western Hotel - HydroSolo Application

Best Western Suites is located in Downtown Calgary. The hotel has 16 storeys with 123 beautifully appointed suites. Many of the suites and rooms have hot tubs.

There was a general complaint of inadequate water pressure during peak morning and evening demands. Many times the city water pressure was as low as 80 psi, and subsequently the hotel could not rent out rooms on the upper 15th and 16th floors. The Top floors have the best view and offer the largest suites.

James Electric Motor, a Grundfos partner was the supplier for this project. The proposal to install a HydroSolo Grundfos booster system to supply those floors was the best solution, as it could serve the upper floors while maintaining an integrated cost-efficient operation.

The selected pump is a HydroSolo E CR15-3 with 5 HP/3/208V packaged system assembled on a stainless steel base plate. This system incorporates a VFD sleep enhancement feature to stop the pump completely, when there is no demand.
