Overview

The location of this SQFlex system is 3 km north off Hwy. 1 (Trans Canada) at the Husky Service Station in Strathmore, then 2.8 km east and on the north side of the road. M & M Drilling Co. of Strathmore, AB. drilled and installed the entire SQFlex/Solar system up for this rancher.
This system will service from 75 to 250 cattle in the peak periods. All cattle are feeders or cow/calf pairs. This system has been in operation since June 2003 and the customer is very satisfied with the overall performance.

5-1/2” steel casing, drilled to 135 ft., SQFlex pump set at 100 ft., pump tested at 18 GPM with a draw down to 55 ft. Static water level @ 14 ft. Water-bearing formation at 90 to 100 ft.

System Equipment:
1 – 11SQF-2 submersible pump.
8 – GF50 solar modules.
2 – Solar array support structures for GF50 panels.
2 – Row closure and connection kits.
1 – Inter-array wire kit.
1 – Array to controller wire kit.
1 – CU200 controller.
1 – Level float switch for stock tank.
100 ft. 1” submersible poly drop pipe and related fittings.
115 ft. - #12/3 stranded TWU pump cable and heat shrink splice kit.
1 – Large 13 ft. diameter rubber tire stock tank, approx. 1,000+ gallons.

During any daylight operation, stock tank is kept full with the SQFlex pump and automatic float switch feature.
There is a bleeder valve in the drop pipe, so draining can occur to prevent freeze up on very cold days.
Solar panels have a fixed tilt angle of 49, facing due south.
